Training
Ngarda shall develop and maintain a competency-based skills training program that complies with nationally accredited standards.
To ensure that each employee is competent to perform in his or her current position, training shall be provided to bridge any skills gap.
Employees are encouraged to develop themselves in line with personal career aspirations. Support is available for continuing education where the course is relevant to the position held or a projected position within the Group.
Training shall be provided to ensure the required level of workplace skills is developed in order to:
- Upskill and expand the Company’s technical and professional skills base;
- Promote internally first allowing employees to be progressively developed to their full ability;
- Meet Ngarda’s statutory obligations to provide a safe and healthy workplace; and
- Value add through the improved morale and personal growth of employees.
Training needs at corporate level shall be approved by the Ngarda Board. Project managers shall identify training needs arising from changes in technology or processes on site, and shortfalls in employee performance.
Continuing education courses must be approved by the relevant divisional manager prior to commencement.
In Ngarda, learning and development is a corporate value that directly assists the company in achieving its mission.
Ngarda Management will ensure that:
- Employee skills certifications and related data are recorded on personal files and/or the HR management system;
- Employee training requirements are determined at annual performance reviews, and are delivered; and
- Employee training is documented on personnel files and/or the HR management system.
