Indigenous Employment
The mission of Ngarda Civil & Mining Pty Ltd is to provide opportunities for Indigenous people, families and communities through the development and delivery of strategies that provide economic development.
To achieve our mission, Ngarda shall whenever possible, provide for the employment, training and total integration of Indigenous employees within the Company.
In every instance, Ngarda will promote the development and use of an Indigenous workforce.
When operating in remote Australian locations and particularly when involved in Joint Venture projects with Indigenous communities, Ngarda will promote and foster a local Indigenous community workforce, which will require the commitment by all parties to the identification, employment and training for Indigenous Australians.
Ngarda will always endeavour to display the highest order of cultural sensitivity when working with local Indigenous communities.
All Ngarda Civil & Mining management shall:
- Strive to achieve an 85% Indigenous employment ratio (must be a minimum 50%);
- Demonstrate a commitment to this Policy;
- Ensure that strategies are developed to meet the requirements of this Policy;
- Provide leadership that ensures all employees adhere to this Policy;
- Review this Policy regularly;
- Ensure that non Indigenous employees are trained in cross cultural awareness;
- Provide opportunities for the identification, employment and training of Indigenous Australians; and
- Support a focus on local community involvement whenever possible.
