Health and Safety

Ngarda Civil & Mining believes in a culture where harm to any employee, subcontractor or visitor, is unacceptable. Therefore, it is Ngarda’s Policy that each person our Company is responsible for shall be provided with a safe and healthy place in which to work.

To achieve this Policy, management will make every reasonable effort in the areas of accident prevention, hazard control and removal, injury protection, health preservation and promotion. Safe and healthy working conditions will be an integral part of our approach to ensuring a safe working environment at all times to all employees. Health and safety at work is both an individual and shared responsibility of all employees. The following statements are essential to the success of this policy.

All Ngarda Civil & Mining management shall:

  • Demonstrate Health & Safety commitment and leadership;
  • Plan, develop, implement and monitor comprehensive Health, Safety  and Welfare Programs including defining roles and responsibilities;
  • Work to eliminate hazards, behaviours and practices that result in the risk of injury, incident, illness or damage;
  • Allocate resources to enact this Policy;
  • Promote the understanding of Health, Safety and Welfare as a normal component of all aspects of work incorporating Australian Standards 4801 and 4804, and
  • Provide a safe and healthy workplace.

All Ngarda employees and subcontractors shall share the responsibility to:

  • Work in a safe and healthy manner;
  • Encourage others to work in a healthy and safe manner
  • Cooperate with management to support the promotion of Health, Safety and Welfare in the workplace;
  • Promptly report accidents, incidents, injuries and any other unsafe practices or conditions that become apparent and
  • Work with others to promote a healthy and safe workplace.
