Brian Hughey - General Manager
Brian was seconded from Henry Walker Eltin in 2000 to establish Ngarda. In 2001 Ngarda was formed and Brian was appointed as the General Manager. A civil engineer, he has worked in the mining and construction industry in Australia since 1975 and Brian’s experience includes Iron Ore operations in the Pilbara, gold operations north of Kalgoorlie, coal operations in the Hunter Valley, and iron ore in Tasmania.
John (‘JB’) Smith - CFO & Company Secretary
JB has been involved in various roles with Ngarda since it began and in February 2006 was appointed as the CFO and Company Secretary. He is a member of both the Institutes of Chartered Accountants and Chartered Secretaries of Australia and a member of the Institute of Company Directors. JB has 12 years of experience in the mining industry and has held various financial and accounting positions with Anglo American Corporation Ltd, De Beers Consolidated Mining Ltd, Consolidated Mining Corporation Ltd and Henry Walker Eltin Ltd. He also owned and operated his own businesses and is a director of a number of small entities.
Darren Lundberg - Deputy General Manager
Darren jointed Ngarda in April 2007 as Operations Manager responsible for both Ngarda’s civil and mining projects. Darren is a civil engineer with 15 years experience over a wide range of development projects in Western Australia. Darren has previously worked with Main Roads, Western Australia in their Gascoyne, Kimberley and Great Southern Regions, highlighted by over 5 years as Regional Manager in the Gascoyne Region. In addition, Darren worked as a project engineer with Wood & Grieve Engineers for 4 years in Perth.
